I have learned to accept that my 17 year old body does not and should not look like my 12 year old body. Not eating/restricting foods is not healthy and will not make me look like my 12 year old self. I have learned to eat "fun foods" without guilt or having to earn it. I have also been working on eating more throughout the day so that I am less snacky and don't go overboard..
I have noticed a great change in my mindset. I view food more as just food than the "enemy". I've also been paying more attention to eating more veggies which is makes me feel really good.
Christina is like a mentor, older-sister to my high level gymnast. My daughter feels safe and connected, not afraid to speak to Christina about her food and body image struggles as a high level gymnast. We love Christina as her nutrition advice is realistic and backed up by science. Christina understands my gymnasts nutritional needs and gets “buy-in” with her.
Christina was able to address our concerns about our young competitive gymnast’s nutrition. She takes a realistic, scientific approach and yet is able to explain complex nutrition concepts in a way that parents can understand. She is a “nutrition detective” and able to help tease out nutrition issues related to gymnastics.
We were very satisfied with the 4 sessions in Christina’s Signature Nutrition Series. My daughter found the information on performance nutrition and injury/inflammation management very helpful.
Christina helped our athletes and parents understand the importantce of nutrition by teaching them about what they are fueling their body with and how that impacts performance/life. Her nutrition material was excellent and delivered in a consice fashion. We were very satisfied as a gym, especially with how the four sessions were broken up into bite-sized content for our parents/athletes.
We were very satisfied with the nutrition sessions as Christina made the nutrition information easy to follow. We only wish we’d had more time with her and will bring her back to our gym 3-4 times per year to continue the conversations about nutrition, body image, and fueling for performance.
Christina kept the girls engaged and parents were provided with the vital information they need to learn to nourish and fuel their growing teen gymnasts. She is a wealth of knowledge and knows her science.
Even after one session our gymnasts are applying the information Christina provided and have changed what kinds of snacks they’re using pre-workout. We love that she keeps nutrition simple and doesn’t overcomplicate. We loved the session!

We thought we were doing really well with nutrition prior to The Balanced Gymnast Course, but then a lot of really important performance and health related nutrition issues were brought to our attention throughout the course. She (L10, D1 commit) learned to properly fuel her workouts and recovery, and immediately saw improvements and energy in the gym.
We didn't know a whole lot about nutrition in general prior to The Balanced Gymnast Course and how it helps with gymnastics. With 20 hours of training weekly, we didn't know what to do to help her. No one had ever taught us exactly what was needed to fuel properly. The handouts on meal and snack plans were probably the biggest win in the course. Would definitely recommend, gave great information and great level of detail. Also, the course gave examples of things we could implement immediately.
