As the parent of a competitive gymnast, the reality is that more than likely you have NEVER been taught about how to help your gymnast fuel for peak performance.
You may have been told to “just feed her healthy foods” or “don’t eat this” or “just eat clean”.
And then when your gymnast is stuck, struggling, or falling short of her goals (or a picky eater)…you feel helpless.
Your gymnast isn’t just any ordinary kid - they’re a competitive athlete training as much or more than a part-time job each week.Their body works 10x harder than the average kid their age.
Which means their body needs MORE.

Nutrition is such a game changer. When everyone is doing the same hours and same skills, the adequately fueled athlete is ahead of the rest. Christina is a true expert and she wants to see your athlete succeed. We enjoyed the group sessions and the 1:1 were a lot more helpful than I was expecting. We are empowered with tools to have a great season. (Last season we had the team talk and implemented those strategies and our gymnast had an amazing season. This year we wanted to build on that and focus more because the return on investment was a such a good one.)”
You’ve heard your gymnast must “eat clean” to support her gymnastic goals but you find that this is hard to stick with or worse, leaves your gymnast hangry and with lower energy levels
Your gymnast is tired and sore all the time and it breaks your heart; you’ve tried chiropractors, supplements, and physical therapists, but nothing has worked
You know your gymnast is not eating enough before or after practice, often skipping meals only to “overdo” later and you’re not sure how to help her find balance
You’ve noticed your gymnast is frequently and easily irritated; you ask how practice went and you’re met with silence or a bad attitude
Your gymnast has been plagued by injuries, fatigue, and you’re wondering if something is missing from their nutrition
(This is not a monthly membership, this is a 3-month program)
THAT'S WHAT I NEED. I'M SO IN!
This is not a course or one-size-fits all cookie cutter program.
TBG Program is an in-depth program for parents and competitive gymnasts who want to learn to think like a sports dietitian and know how to fuel anywhere, anytime.
The Balanced Gymnast® Program is a by-application-only 3-month program and the investment starts at $255 a month.

The aspect of the program that I loved best is that it doesn’t teach you a specific menu or diet or schedule—it teaches you tools that you can use to tailor fueling for performance to your daughter, family, and lifestyle. It taught me about flexibility as much as it taught my daughter about the importance of fueling to prevent injury and perform well. We are excited to continue to see progress as we put more and more tools to use!

My 10-year-old daughter feels more confident in choosing her pre-workout snacks, is more diligent about eating a carb snack during longer training periods and is faithful with eating a recovery meal after training. Knowing that she is providing the fuel she needs to sustain her energy throughout the workout gives me peace of mind that she is taking care of her body now and setting the stage for a strong future.
I appreciate how Christina empowered my daughter to take control of her nutrition.

I am so impressed with this program!!! Seeing my daughter feel better is 100% worth it!!! She felt hopeless before we started. She was always having what we now know are repercussions of being under fueled! Her tendonitis is no longer bothering her, she has more energy than I have ever seen her have, and feels great before, during, and after practice! She is no longer cranky and tired all the time! Her attitude has changed remarkably!! She is still a teenager at times, but this is manageable!! Her grades have improved, too!!
My daughter tells everyone how much better she feels. I can’t say thank you enough!
// Mom, Level 8 Gymnast
We joined the VIP program to help make sure my daughters are getting the necessary nutrition and to help address nagging injuries. It’s been very helpful in not only learning fueling strategies but more importantly addressing underlying issues not only impacting gymnastics but also overall health. We now have more of a plan and tools and can definitely say I am 100% on board with the importance of labs!
Christina does a great job of explaining the science behind the why and how that ties into the way they feel.
Build a custom fueling plan with meals and snacks that provide the right fuel at the right time for your gymnast (that they’ll actually eat)
Layer on proven Performance Nutrition Strategies to help your gymnast unlock that next level of performance (no more struggles with power, strength, or endurance)
Monitor your gymnast's growth and development to ensure proper fueling and prevent future injury or reinjury (without obsessing or stressing out your gymnast)
Check nutrition and performance related labs and choose supplements your gymnast may need to support optimal performance, energy, and endurance (this is not a one-sized-fits all)
Help your gymnast develop a healthy relationship with food and body (gymnastics is temporary but these struggles can follow your gymnast for life)
Balance meals and snacks with fun foods to stay sane and enjoy what you eat
Layer on performance nutrition strategies that work to level up focus, strength, and endurance
Learn to build meals/snacks that fuel your gymnast based on their workouts

Hi, I’m Christina Anderson, MS, RDN, CSP, LD. I’m a board-certified pediatric/adolescent registered dietitian sports nutritionist . Like your gymnast (and maybe even you), I was a competitive gymnast for 9+ years. It wasn’t until I become a Registered Dietitian Sports Nutritionist that I realized what I had been doing with my nutrition as a gymnast was the complete opposite of what I should have been doing.
How could I (and my parents) have known? Especially when everyone else was doing the same as me. I started my private practice working exclusively with the gymnasts and their parents who are serious about learning how to optimize nutrition and performance.
I’m here to help you challenge commonly held beliefs around nutrition in the sport because you know, “this is how we’ve always done it” doesn’t mean it’s right. If you’re worried about your gymnast’s risk of injury, constant muscle soreness, chronic fatigue, and irritability, or just their ability to reach their big goals + dreams… this program is made for you.

This program will help! Gymnasts (especially teens) may not want to talk about nutrition because it’s deeply personal and they don’t want to feel judged. Often comments about food/bodies have already been made, and this program is a safe way to introduce new, healthy nutrition concepts without pressure. Plus you’ll learn so much from this program as a parent that you can implement on your own, as the preparer of food.
What if my gymnast refuses to talk with me about nutrition, will this help?
No worries! We will have the replay posted as quickly as possible for you in the group platform. We do ask that you try and attend at least 4 of the 6 coaching calls live but understand if you are super busy or live in a time zone that makes it difficult.
What if I can't make it to the live sessions?
We will meet for 60 minutes every other week (6 times in 12 weeks). You may also have 20-30 mins of “homework” with your gymnast between sessions.
How much time per week is required to engage in the program?
If you are in the US you can use a HSA card to purchase the program. You can also submit a receipt for a FSA but we cannot guarantee payment; it is your responsibility to check with your insurance carrier. We are happy to provide a superbill if they need more information.
We can look into billing your insurance for part of the UPGRADE option that includes 1:1 sessions. We are in-network with BCBS, UHC, Cigna, and Aetna. Coverage is never a guarantee of payment so we always ask parents can comitt to the total cash price.
Can I use my health insurance for the program?
We have group members who see improvements in performance, nutrition, and relationship with food within the first 1-2 weeks!
How soon can expect to see results with my gymnast?
Yes, at this time is because we cover how to avoid the female athlete triad and other topics specific to females. If you have a male gymnast please contact me.
Is this only for female gymnasts?
